This morning we are on our way to Sault St. Marie. Hwy 17 West from Sudbury involves a lot of climbing. We passed a small island on a very small lake just outside Sudbury City limits. It had a cabin on it that took up most of the island - pretty cute. Lots of native trading posts and art galleries along this route. Not much farming. More bush than anything. Gas has taken a leap and it looks like we will have to pay $1.39 today. Drat!
Oh no we lucked out the Broken Canoe has fuel for $1.347 so we filled up all the way. Only about 20 Kms down the road the next town had fuel for $1.427 - wow!
We are close to Lake Huron and pull over for a quick lunch. Dan's request - peanut butter and banana sandwich - me yogurt and banana.
Bull Rushes on the side of the road. Lots of construction and traffic on the roads today. It's very muggy today and about 24 degrees. Sticky hot.
Oh my we just saw a group of Mennonites with horses and cart driving along the ditch line. Couldn't get a picture though.
The next town is Echo Bay and the sign says:
Welcome to Echo Bay
Worth Repeating!
ha ha, it seems all towns have some kind if slogan, but that one is cute.
A look at the landscape as we get closer to Sault St. Marie.
So while we wait Dan gets his hair cut and then we do a drive around the Soo - we didn't do any cursing when we here last time. We are going to explore more tomorrow.
Now that the Moho is done we are off to our campsite at the KOA. With this weather the way it has been we really need the air conditioner so we don't sweat to death!
So what's in store for tonight? Maybe a game of mini golf or cards - who knows.
