We came to this little town of Kakabeka and we are waiting for the gift shop to open. Nice people in this town, I had to mail a card from the post office here.
Anyway shopping done and back on the road again.
This is the scenery we are driving through just outside Kalabeka Falls.
A few more kms and we have changed time zones from the Eastern to the Central. We save an hour today - bonus!
While we were waiting for the shop to open Dan got rid of all the hitch hikers so I can take pictures while driving again - that is until we pick up more hitch hikers!
Just after we went through Raif there is a sign telling us that the waters from this point on all flow into the Arctic Ocean. Sign needs a bit of maintenance I'd say.
Lots of construction still means lots of stopping and starting. This one area just outside Wabigoon it looks like they are blasting and moving rock to put in a passing lane.
Tons of rock to be moved.
There's not a lot between the towns north of Thunder Bay except bush and bog - good fishing in the summer and hunting in the fall. We have not seen any wildlife, not even a squirrel, buts there have been lots of dead skunks.
There are a lot if lakes in thus route as well, but we haven't seen anyone fishing today. We pulled off for a bit if fresh air and a stretch at this little lake. No name on this one - it's just south of Fiest Lake.
We made it to Kenora and we went to Walmart for our overnight - but they have a sign there saying no overnight camping. The sign was put up by the City of Kenora. So we looked for a campsite and no spots for us but the girls at the site in town called and found us a spot at the Willows RV is just about 15 minutes outside the city. It works and actually a very nice spot with privacy at each camp. It all worked out. Tomorrow we will leave Ontario.
