Day 34 - Friday, July 4th American Independence Day

We didn't sleep much last night - the camp was fairly deserted.  Trains passing through, sirens blaring and Dan heard someone come into camp about 2:00 am.  Restless night - so we got up at 5:30 am and we are heading inland to get away from the coast and the predicted storm.  Sussex is our destination and maybe further once we find out the predictions for that area.  Still very foggy today.

On our travels we have seen many dead Porcupines all over the place, they must have a lot of them in New Brunswick.  We have also seen lots of signs warning to be on the lookour for moose- but no sign of moose - ha!  We also pass road signs on the way and one is for Fox Farm Road, reminding us of home.

We make it to Sussex and we have some maintenance items to take care of.  We need to get the rock chips fixed on the Moho before they become a disaster.  The fellow at All Glass is very obliging and fit us in right away.  Done in about an hour and only $73 for 5 repairs - pretty good I think.  We were not so lucky driving all over trying to find a place to groom Gidget and no pedi for me until Tuesday.  So I guess when we settle for a few days we will have to make some appointments.  Dan had to also lubricate the slides so we did that in a school parking lot in the sunshine right across from the glass shop, so with our chores taken care of we head for a campsite.  A very nice lady at the drugstore recommended Pine Cone Camping as it is in a more protected area and we would be sheltered from the storm.  So off we go and it is beautiful and what a contrast from Saint John - see the difference.

Hmmm, glad we came inland.  It is about 15 degrees hotter and a very nice campground.  Next door is a very nice couple originally from Cape Breton and we had a great conversation.  They recommended places we should go to both in Nova Scotia and PEI.  They live not far from here so they packed up and headed home.  The prediction for here is for heavy rain and winds so with all the hatches battened down we go off to bed to wait out the storm.
