Day 45 - Tuesday, July 15 - Northumberland Shore

Last night the fog rolled in right to the Moho and made the evening feel very eerie! It rained fairly hard during the night.  We were up at 6:00 am as today Gidget is going for a groom - I am so happy we finally found someone to groom her.  We have been trying at every town for the past 3 weeks and have had no luck.  This groomer made an exception for us and started the day 1/2 hour early to accommodate Gidget!  They get my recommendation for anyone travelling near Peggy's Cove, that's  for sure.

This is poor neglected Gidget before her cut.

And this is her after!

Much better, now she looks like some one loves her.  Thanks to Mutt Cuts.  So while Gidget was getting beautiful it was time for me to get my hair trimmed too.  So now Dan's girls are all prettied up!

We are heading toward New Glasgow on the 102.  There is a sign telling us that Mastodon Ridge is halfway between the Equator and the North Pole.  We saw that somewhere else in the province earlier.  We are retracing some of our journey in order to go to New Glasgow.  We had to come through Truro when we were following the Glooscap Trail.

We haven't travelled many kilometres today but we have come from the south shore of Nova Scotia to the north shore - from one coastline to another.  We get to our campsite - Cranberry Campground and get set up.  It is a beautiful view from our site as we sit out and have a bite of lunch (late as usual)!

Now it's time to gather up the laundry and head for the washers and dryers.  At the laundry I met a lady from Montreal and she was very interesting to talk to.  They have retired and downsized from a 10 room house to a studio apartment, purchased a caravan and are free to travel whenever they wish. Their unit overlooks the harbour and they are very happy.  She says you have to be free of stuff to have peace within yourself and enjoy the simple life!  I tend to agree with her.  She was such a nice lady.  Well 3 hours later the laundry is done and now we will have a late supper.  We always seem to be late with our meals!  But tonight I am creating a wonderful meal for my chauffeur!  Mushroom baked pork chops, sautéed potatoes with carmalized onions and mushrooms, baked herb loaf and fresh veggies with lemon dilly dip and of course a nice glass of dry white wine!  Mmm, and when it's done it's delicious.  I can still cook!  The chauffeur was very grateful for the sumptuous dinner!

Well I guess it's time to take Gidget for her evening walk - looks like it is going to storm out there.

Night!
